Mr Roy Brooke
Biography
Roy Brooke no longer works for the Oil and Pipelines Agency. Roy graduated from the University of Birmingham with Bachelors and Masters degrees in chemical engineering. During his 15 year career in the oil industry he has worked for such oil majors as Total and Chevron, as well as independents such as Petroplus. Within these companies he moved through roles based on the trading floor, refinery based positions and head office roles, always focussed on optimisation and corporate strategy. In such positions he was heavily involved in the purchase of a number of refineries and the flotation of Petroplus on the Swiss stock exchange. After leaving Petroplus Roy worked in the private equity sector, acting as an investment director and portfolio manager for AtlasInvest, leading a number of renewable and energy acquisitions. In his last position Roy was a founding member of Hestya Energy (a joint venture between Riverstone and Atlasinvest), where he led the purchase of the Wilhelmshaven Refinery, and in the position of COO its subsequent conversion to a tank storage terminal. He took the position of Commercial Director at OPA in April 2014. There is currently no one in the Commercial Director role.
