Rowan James Laxton was appointed British High Commissioner to the Republic of Cameroon in October 2017. Prior to this he was the Deputy Director and Head of Overseas Security at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
Rowan joined the FCO in 1993 and has since worked in many departments including the Drugs and International Crime Department. He was also posted in Somalia as the Deputy Head of Mission from 2013 to 2014.

British High Commissioner to Cameroon
The High Commissioner is the UK government’s representative in a Commonwealth nation. They are responsible for the direction and work of the High Commission and its Deputy High Commissions and/or Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
