Robin Ord-Smith, MVO

Biography

Mr. Robin Ord-Smith, MVO was most recently Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Kyrgyz Republic (2015 to 2019). Robin joined the FCO in 1989 and has served in a number of diplomatic roles at home and overseas, including in Algeria, Romania, Malaysia, Germany, Japan and Iraq.

Mr Ord-Smith has also spent time seconded to the private sector as Marketing Manager Japan for BAE Systems and to the German Foreign Ministry and as Assistant Private Secretary to His Royal Highness The Duke of York. Mr Ord-Smith was Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan from 2012 until December 2014.
