Robert Wright

Biography

Robert Wright joined the CNPA Board in January 2010. He is chairman of the Audit, Risk & Corporate Governance Committee. He is a management consultant, specialising in providing tailored support to public sector bodies on policy and project management.

Before taking early retirement from the then Department of Trade and Industry in March 2007, he was Director of Export Control and Non-proliferation for 3 years, with responsibility for overseeing the government’s policy on nuclear safeguards, and prior to that Director of Energy Strategy.

He is an accredited Office of Government Commerce high risk gateway review team leader and an Associate of the National School of Government. He is also a member of the Cabinet Office’s Security Vetting Appeals Panel.
