Rob Holden joined Nuclear Decommissioning Authority as a Non- Executive Director in June 2015. Rob was appointed Chair of High Speed 1 in 2011. He was awarded a CBE in 2009 for his role as the CEO of Crossrail and of London & Continental Railways (LCR). Between 1999 and 2009 Rob led the LCR team in a series of transactions that secured the future of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (later renamed High Speed 1). In addition to his chairman’s role Rob is a non-executive director of Viridor Ltd, a waste management and recycling business. He also advises on long term projects in the rail and defence sectors. Rob participates on PwC’s infrastructure advisory board and has recently worked for the Cabinet Office’s Major Projects Review Group.
Rob qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Young in Manchester before moving to the Vickers Shipbuilding Group early in his career.
