Richard Moon

Biography

Richard Moon has been Deputy Ambassador in the British Embassy, Kabul, since July 2016.

Before coming to Afghanistan Richard spent five years as UK member of UN Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (ACABQ) in New York. Other previous diplomatic roles have included British Ambassador to Latvia, Deputy Head of EU Department (External), Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) London and Deputy Permanent Representative, UK Delegation to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris. Richard joined Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1983.

Richard was awarded a PhD in International Economics at the London School of Economics in 1994.
