Richard Cummings

Biography

Richard has spent over 30 years in the nuclear industry. He was initially based at Culham Centre and went on to spells at Harwell and Dounreay.

He first worked on fission reactor severe accident analysis and in the mid-90s led a team looking at repository criticality safety on the Nirex programme. Richard went on to lead a government review of the potential for partition and transmutation of radioactive waste, giving evidence to a House of Lords select committee, and he has also chaired several International Atomic Energy Authority (IAEA) projects.

Richard led delivery of the 2011 Environmental Safety Case for LLWR Ltd.
