Richard Aitken-Davies

Biography

Richard Aitken-Davies is a non-executive member of the Department of Transport Board.

Richard is an independent consultant. He has advised ministers and senior civil servants of the Department for Work and Pensions and the Ministry of Justice on the delivery of major programmes involving the procurement of services from the private and voluntary sectors.

Richard has had an extensive career in industry. He held senior executive roles in the Central Electricity Generating Board, Powergen, Railtrack and London & Continental Railways. His focus was on financial control, project management and organisational change.

Richard is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He served on ACCA’s governing council and was ACCA’s President for the 2008 to 2009 tax year. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Richard also served as a non-executive director and chairman of an AIM listed company and independent chairman of an employers’ group overseeing the administration of the Electricity Supply Pensions Scheme.
