Rebecca Pow was appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 10 September 2019.

Rebecca was previously a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport between 23 May 2019 and 10 September 2019.

Responsibilities include:

  • COVID-19 issues related to waste and water
  • Domestic natural environment including biodiversity, marine, net gain, wildlife, pollinators
  • 25 Year Environment Plan
  • Environment Bill
  • Climate change adaptation, land use and Defra input to net zero
  • Floods, water and emergencies
  • Environmental management and regulation including resources and waste, air quality and chemicals
  • Commercial projects including Covent Garden Market and waste Private Finance Initiative (PFI) projects
  • Lead for Environment Agency and Natural England
  • Commons minister for rural affairs, landscape, and international environment
