Rebecca Coady
Biography
Rebecca was appointed as HMT Director of People & Operations in March 2023.
Prior to this role, Rebecca worked in the Cabinet Office between October 2016 and March 2023, where she was leading the overall government strategy for functional efficiency and reform. She was Operations Director for the COVID-19 taskforce, ran the Cabinet Office Strategy Unit and was Chief Operating Officer for the Office of Government Property.
Before joining the Civil Service, Rebecca worked on transformation programmes in the wider public sector. She started her career working in the Houses of Parliament.
Operations director
The HMT Director of People & Operations jointly leads the HMT Corporate Centre Group (CCG) with the HMT Finance Director. The HMT Director of People & Operations has overall responsibility for HMT People & Capability (HR), Estates, Treasury Business Services (including technology, security, and information management). The HMT Director of People & Operations also has accountability for data protection issues across the department.
