Ray Davidson

Biography

Ray Davidson took up his post as Deputy High Commissioner in Georgetown in July 2018. Mr Davidson moved to Guyana from the UK, where he worked in the Consular Directorate of the FCO.

He joined the FCO in 1995 having previously served 12 years in the British Army, during which time he was awarded the Member of the British Empire (MBE).

During his service in the FCO Mr Davidson has been posted to the Solomon Islands, France, Pakistan, North Korea and Afghanistan and carried out duties in a number of others, including Ivory Coast, Ghana, Kenya and Croatia. His work has been as varied as his postings. This has included being involved in Corporate Services, Consular, Immigration, Programme Management, Trade and Political.

Mr Davidson is also a qualified trainer, with particular focus on consular work and mental health.
