Paula Walsh
Biography
Paula Walsh has been the HM Consul General in Rio de Janeiro since August 2010. Paula has a degree in Biochemistry from Oxford University and worked for British Gas and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London before joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1998. Within the FCO, Paula has served in the Non Proliferation Department, as Second Secretary Commercial in Argentina, in London on Afghan counter narcotic policy, on the Mexico and Central America desk in London and then most recently in Zambia, as Deputy High Commissioner from 2007 to 2010. Paula speaks Portuguese and Spanish. She is joined in Rio de Janeiro by her husband Nick Gibson.
