Paul Woodgates
Biography
Paul was appointed as a member of the ESFA Audit and Risk Committee in 2022 and a member of the ESFA Management Board in 2023.
Until 2021 he was a partner at PA Consulting where he built and ran the education consulting practice internationally. He has worked extensively with frontline education providers, government, regulators and funding bodies in the UK and elsewhere to define strategy, improve outcomes, deliver better services, and reduce cost. He is a Chartered Accountant and across his career has worked as an auditor, consultant, programme leader and change manager in a range of organisations.
Since leaving PA Consulting, Paul has combined working as an independent strategic advisor to leaders in the education sector with non-executive roles. He is a Governor and Chair of the Finance and Performance Committee at De Montfort University and is a Non-executive Director and member of the Audit and Risk Committee at Advance HE.
