Paul Moloney

Biography

Paul has over 30 years’ experience working as a senior official in the UK trade union movement holding positions in several unions including GMB, Nautilus International, the Society of Radiographers and currently with the Pharmacists Defence Association Union.

During this career Paul has represented regulated professionals at a senior level in their career, including Merchant Navy Officers, Radiographers in the NHS or Pharmacists in both the private and public sectors.

He specialises in developing partnership approaches to industrial relations and created partnership agreements currently used by leading employers of UK Merchant Navy Officers, including the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and world-renowned Cruise companies and Tanker operators. He is currently working with a large employer of pharmacists, developing their partnership approach.

Paul is a pay and reward specialist having negotiated improvements to reward packages on behalf of employees in public service, the private sector, a global Labour market and for those in non-typical employment arrangements. He has an in-depth knowledge of pensions and and was a member of the NHS Pension Board from 2015 to 2022, the body responsible for ensuring the NHS Schemes are run in accordance with their rules and current legislation. Previously Paul was a trustee of the largest private sector multi-employer scheme, the Merchant Navy Officers Fund.

Outside of work Paul continues his interest in all employment related matters. He is a member of the Central Arbitration Committee and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts where he has been involved in pension projects and the Good Work initiative. Paul is a season ticket holder at Watford football Club.
