Olivier Evans

Biography

Olivier was appointed Director for Communications and Stakeholders at the Department for Exiting the European Union in April 2019. Prior to that, he was Deputy Director, No Deal Planning, and previously Deputy Head of Mission and Political Counsellor at the British Embassy in Mexico City

From September 2014 to April 2015 Mr Evans was the Head of International and European Affairs in UK for Aviva PLC, an insurance and financial services FTSE100 company. He is a diplomat who most recently worked as the speechwriter for President Jose Manuel Barroso.

After studying at Peterhouse, Cambridge University and the LSE, Olivier worked in journalism, marketing and in the Ministry for Health. He joined the FCO in 2001 and has worked on European and Latin American issues, notably as Europe Adviser to the Coalition Government and as Head of the Caribbean, Central America and Mexico Directorate.
