Nigel Minns
Biography
Nigel Minns became Regional Director for the East Midlands in March 2026.
He was previously a Director of Children’s Services for 8 years and held a national role with the Association of Directors of Children’s Services.
Nigel began his career as a primary school teacher and has also worked with the Office of the Regional Schools Commissioner as an external deputy director.
Regional Director for East Midlands
The Regional Director for East Midlands is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:
- Derby
- Derbyshire
- Leicester
- Leicestershire
- Lincolnshire
- North Northamptonshire
- Nottingham
- Nottinghamshire
- Rutland
- West Northamptonshire
