Nigel Clifford

Biography

Nigel is a London-based Operating Executive in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on conducting operational due diligence and providing operational support to European portfolio companies in the software and technology sectors.

Nigel has over 20 years of experience in the software and technology industries, including as CEO of six companies, three of which he successfully led to a sale. Most recently, he served as CEO of Ordnance Survey, where he led the transformation of Britain’s geospatial agency on behalf of the British government. Prior thereto, he was the CEO of ProcServe Holdings (sold to Basware) and, before that, the CEO of MicroFocus International. Nigel has also held senior leadership roles at Nokia, Symbian Software, Tertio Telecoms Limited, Cable and Wireless, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, NHS Trust and British Telecom. In addition, he has served as a non-executive board director for two publicly listed U.K. companies, Alliance Pharma and Anite.

Nigel earned an M.A. in Geography from Cambridge University and an M.B.A from the University of Strathclyde. He is President of the Royal Geographical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Chartered Institute of Management and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
