Nick Elliott MBE

Biography

Nick Elliott is an Executive and Board level Director with significant experience of leading major businesses in infrastructure, railways and defence. With specialist skills in programme & project management, commercial and logistics, he was most recently Director General of the UK Vaccine Taskforce before joining Turner & Townsend, the Global professional services and programme management specialists.

Initially trained as a Civil Engineer, he then served as an officer in the Royal Engineers on combat engineering, construction and bomb disposal operations and projects worldwide. Senior roles in Network Rail followed as a Regional Director in their Infrastructure Projects business and then Managing Director of the National Supply Chain organisation. He returned to Defence as the Director General Commercial and Deputy Chief Executive of Defence Equipment and Support, the professional acquisition and support organisation of the Ministry of Defence, responsible for delivering some of the biggest capital programmes in the UK.

He is a serving member of the Staff Corps, a reserve organisation of business leaders who provide specialist advice to the Armed Forces, and has previously served as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Submarine Delivery Agency and as a Council Member of the Rail Supply Group. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Royal Engineers.
