Nicholas Woolley

Biography

Nicholas Woolley was appointed as Her Majesty’s High Commissioner to Zambia in August 2019. Prior to this he was Her Majesty’s Deputy High Commissioner to Democratic Republic of Congo from 2014 to 2016.

Woolley has extensive experience representing the UK in the Middle East, with previous postings as Head of Conflict and Joint Programmes in Islamabad (2013 to 2014), Head of Reconciliation and External Politics in Kabul (2010 to 2013) and in the National Security Secretariat at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (2009).

British High Commissioner to Zambia

The High Commissioner is the UK government’s representative in a Commonwealth nation. They are responsible for the direction and work of the High Commission and its Deputy High Commissions and/or Consulates, including political work, trade and investment, press and cultural relations, and visa and consular services.
