Neil Baldwin

Biography

Neil has almost 40 years’ experience in the nuclear industry. He started his career at Sellafield as a graduate chemical engineer and went on to become Director of Thorp and the High Level Waste Plants. In 2004 he left Sellafield to become Director of Operations for Magnox Ltd eventually becoming the Managing Director.

During his time in charge Magnox were awarded the Sir George Earle trophy, ROSPA’s most prestigious award for industrial safety. In addition to his role as a Director of LLWR he also serves as an Independent member of EDF Energy’s Nuclear Liabilities Committee, focused on the future decommissioning of the UK’s AGR fleet. He was awarded an MBE in 2015 for his service to the industry.
