Mike graduated from Imperial College in mechanical engineering before converting to the law. He then worked in London for 15 years, acting for commercial property clients.
Mike spent 11 years at English Heritage as its legal director and corporate secretary. He gained board-level experience of major reform of heritage law and policy, and significant organisational change, when English Heritage was split in two to create a new national charity.
Mike has been at HM Land Registry since 1 February 2018.
General Counsel and Deputy Chief Land Registrar
In direct support of the Chief Land Registrar, the role carries responsibility for the legal framework for land registration in England and Wales and its administrative application by HM Land Registry.
