Mike Calloway

Biography

Michael Calloway joined the CNPA Board in July 2018. He is the Head of Programme at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), leading the team responsible for providing assurance and oversight of third party nuclear operators decommissioning strategy, planning and costing, which lie outside the NDA’s estate but where government has an interest in its funding. This role requires effective engagement with senior stakeholders to ensure project and programme success/ delivery and active engagement with government, Fund Trustees, Directors, and Site Licence Company senior management and Executives.

Michael also acts as an Assurance Reviewer for the government’s infrastructure and Projects Authority and has extensive nuclear industry experience of circa 30 years in programme and project, commercial management and delivery. This has related to the operation, remediation, refurbishment, design, and decommissioning of various nuclear facilities including nuclear power stations, post irradiation examination facilities and redundant nuclear facilities.

Michael earned his degree in physics from Manchester University and has a Masters in Radiation and Environmental Protection. He is a member of the Association of Project Managers (APM) and the Society for Radiological Protection.
