Mike Brooks
Biography
Mike Brooks became a Non Executive Director at DVLA in October 2009.
Education
Mike has an MSc in Accounting and Finance (1987) from the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Directors.
Career
Mike has managed a wide range of finance activities, including start-up situations and established businesses, within operating units and at head office both in the UK and overseas during the course of a career spent largely in the oil and gas industry. This included 20 years with Shell, leaving in 1999 to develop a portfolio of consulting, interim management and other business activities. He is also a member of the Department for Transport Group Audit Committee and is the Chair of the Audit Committee of the Driver and Vehicle Agency, an executive agency of the Department of the Environment in Northern Ireland.
