District Judge Michael Walker CBE

Biography

Michael Walker has been a judicial member of the HM Courts & Tribunals Service Board since April 2011.

Michael was appointed as a district judge in April 1994. He has been seconded to the Senior Presiding Judge’s office at the Royal Courts of Justice since September 2007.

Before his appointment to the bench, he was:

  • a partner in a South London firm of legal aid solicitors
  • Honorary Secretary of the Association of Her Majesty’s District Judges
  • a member of the Judges’ Council
  • a director of HM Courts Service
