Michael Parker
Biography
Michael Parker became the first Non-Executive Chairman of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency in January 2017.
Prior to this appointment, Michael was the Chairman of the UK holding company of CMA CGM and its UK subsidiary MacAndrews & Co Ltd.
Michael commenced his shipping career in 1970 with Overseas Container Ltd. In 1984, he joined Ellerman Lines and was part of the team that led the management buy-out in 1985. From 1991 to 2009 Michael Parker was first Managing Director and then Chairman of Andrew Weir Shipping Ltd. In 2004/2005 he was President of the Chamber of Shipping and has represented the UK Chamber at both the European Shipowners’ Association and the International Chamber of Shipping.
