Michael Harrison

Biography

Michael is a Director in UK Government Investments (UKGI)

He joined the Shareholder Executive (the predecessor to UKGI) in March 2009 and has worked on a range of governance roles and commercial projects across Government.

Michael is currently a Non Executive Director on the board of Network Rail (as a DFT representative) and has previously been a Non Executive Director on the boards the company that is selling the Royal Mail pension fund assets (originally £29bn), Porton Biopharma (a Department of Health owned company), Ordnance Survey and the Met Office (BEIS owned companies).

He has a broad international corporate advisory background having spent his previous eight years before joining the Shareholder Executive as an executive director in Australia working for independent corporate finance advisor Greenhill Caliburn. Prior to that, Michael spent 12 years in investment banking with CSFB and BZW in both London and Europe. He started his career as an accountant at PWC after studying Natural Sciences (specialising in Chemistry).
