Michael Goddard
Biography
Michael joined the Coal Authority as programme director in October 2023.
Prior to this, he worked for National Highways as project director for the A417 Missing Link, a major road enhancement scheme in Gloucestershire. Under his leadership the project was commended for its unique ‘landscape-led’ design philosophy and cited as an exemplar in building consensus through partnerships with conservation groups, communities and local authorities. He led a multidisciplinary team that secured development consent in 2022.
Michael has an extensive background in developing major transport infrastructure projects, and has worked at local, sub-national and national bodies over the past 15 years.
