Martin Nesbit

Biography

Martin became the Interim Director General for Strategy, Evidence and Customers in October 2013.

Prior to that, Martin was Director for EU and International affairs, including responsibility for negotiations on the Common Agricultural Policy.

He was previously a Director in the Department of Energy and Climate Change, working in a range of roles from 2008-2009 focused on delivery of UK greenhouse gas reductions. From 2006 – 2008 he was the Deputy Director responsible for greenhouse gas emissions trading, and other UK instruments to reduce carbon emissions; and from 2002-2006 he was responsible for UK policy on the rural development and agri-environment elements of the CAP.
