Martin Hewitt CBE QPM

Biography

Martin Hewitt served as the Border Security Commander at the Home Office from October 2024 until April 2026.

Martin has over 30 years of experience in policing and crisis management, having served with distinction in both the British Army and UK law enforcement, including four years as chair of the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC).

Mr Hewitt led the NPCC between 2019 and 2023 and previously served as an assistant commissioner in the Metropolitan Police.
