Biography

Mark Taylor is the Interim Regional Director for the North West, taking up the role in May 2026.

Mark has worked at the Department for Education for 12 years.

During this time, he has worked on a range of delivery programmes, including the:

  • children’s social care improvement programme
  • free schools programme

Interim Regional Director for North West

The Interim Regional Director for North West is responsible for working locally across children’s social care, SEND, schools and area-based programmes to improve outcomes for children, families and learners. They are responsible for making decisions in the following local authorities:

  • Cheshire West and Chester
  • Cumbria
