Mark Stewart
Biography
Mark started his Civil Service career in the Public Trust Office in 1987 before moving to working in courts and tribunals in 1990, where he has undertaken a wide variety of leadership, project/programme management and estate-related roles at Cluster, regional and national levels. Over recent years Mark has held a number of senior leadership positions within HMCTS including Deputy Director (Enforcement), Deputy Director (Performance & Contracted Services), Delivery Director (Central Operations and Tribunals Scotland) and Delivery Director for the Royal Courts of Justice Group.
He was appointed as acting Courts and Tribunals Director in December 2020 before being appointed substantively in the role in June 2022. Mark is responsible for the delivery of HMCTS day to day services and operational change across the following 8 regions:

- North East
- North West
- Royal Courts of Justice
- South East
- South West
