Mark Fisher CBE

Biography

Mark Fisher CBE FRSA has been Director General and Secretary to the Grenfell Tower Public Inquiry since June 2017.

Prior to taking up the post Mark was Director of the Office for Civil Society at the Cabinet Office (and later the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) with responsibility for social action, social investment, support for charities, business partnerships and youth policy. Mark has also worked in the Benefits Agency as HR Director of the DSS Group and as a Board Director of Jobcentre Plus. He was Chief Executive of the Sector Skills Development Agency and was Labour Market Director in the Department for Work and Pensions during the 2009 recession.

Mark has been a Director of Working Links (Employment) Ltd and a Public Member of Network Rail. He is Chair of the Estates and Finance Committee of Huddersfield University and is a Trustee of the Clore Social Leadership Foundation. In January 2010 he received a CBE.
