Malcolm Scott

Biography

Malcolm was appointed British Consul-General for North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Saarland and Rhineland-Palatinate and Director of UK Trade and Investment in Germany in August 2009. He has worked in the UK civil service since 1987, mainly in the areas of European trade and policy towards industry.

In 1992 he worked on the coordination of measures leading up to the creation of the Single European Market, and from 1992 to 1994 he was private secretary to the Minister for Industry. In 2001 he gained an MBA qualification from Imperial College, London, followed by 2 years as Director Europe in UK Trade and Investment.

From 2004 to 2009 he was Director of Aerospace, Marine and Defence in the Department for Business.
