Louise Walker

Biography

Louise is currently the UK Chargé d’Affaires in Khartoum. For the past two years Louise has served as Development Director in Sudan leading the UK’s support on the economy and debt relief, peace, climate change and the humanitarian response.

Prior to Sudan, Louise was Head of Office for Yemen, leading the UK’s largest humanitarian programme. Louise previously led the UK’s Economic Growth portfolio in Pakistan focusing on macroeconomic reforms, infrastructure, trade and the banking sector. Louise’s other roles have included a secondment to the US Government to help develop greater economic ties between Central and South Asia and leading the UK’s work in Afghanistan to set out a legal and regulatory framework for the extractives sector.

Louise holds a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick , a MBA from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts.
