Biography
Professor Liz Baggs is a Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioner. Liz is Vice-Principle for Research and Innovation and Professor of Food and Environmental Security at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this role, Liz was Dean of Research for the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and Deputy Director of the Global Academy of Agriculture and Food Systems.

Commonwealth Scholarship Commissioners are responsible for:
- ensuring that the CSC fulfils the aims and objectives set by FCDO
- promoting the efficient and effective use of staff and other resources by the CSC
- ensuring that individuals are selected for Commonwealth Scholarships and Fellowships on merit and on the basis of clear criteria which reflect the objectives of FCDO and, where appropriate, other sponsoring departments
