Leo Geddes

Biography

Leo Geddes is an Executive Director in the Shareholder Executive, a group within the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) responsible for overseeing the Government’s shareholdings in publicly owned businesses. Leo has particular responsibility for Land Registry and the Public Data Group.

Before joining BIS, Leo worked in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office where he had postings in the British High Commission, Canberra, and the British Embassy, Beijing.

Leo’s most recent posting was as Head of Energy and Resource Security for the China Network. He has been involved in negotiating a number of high-profile commercial agreements with the Chinese government and State Owned Enterprises, as well as developing and running several government-to-government initiatives.

Leo joined HM Land Registry as a Non-executive Director from the Shareholder Executive in July 2014.
