Lawrence M. Weiss
Biography
Lawrence M. Weiss was a Non-Executive Director of the UK Export Finance (UKEF) Board. He was the Chair of the UKEF Audit Committee, and a member of the Risk Committee as well as the Remuneration Committee. From 2017 to 2019 he was a member of the Department for International Trade (DIT) Audit & Risk Assurance Committee. Since 2014 Lawrence has also served on a variety of Boards in the private sector.
Lawrence was the Chief Executive Officer of Bank Leumi (UK) plc from 2008 to 2014. During that period he served as a member of the World Division Committee of the Association of Foreign Banks. From 1990-2008, he held a number of senior management positions in the oil division of Glencore, including responsibility for large project financing in developing countries and Head of Global Credit Risk Management.
He began his career in finance at The Chase Manhattan Bank in New York and moved to London in 1982.
