Laura Battisegola

Biography

Laura joined the BDUK Commercial Function in 2019, becoming BDUK Commercial Director in 2021. Prior to that, Laura joined Cabinet Office Commercial in 2018 and the Government Commercial Organisation shortly after, looking at high value and complex spend across government.

Prior to joining the Civil Service, Laura held a number of commercial leadership roles in major programmes in both public and private sector, notably at Deloitte, Crossrail, London Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Games and Transport for London.

Laura leads a team of 85 commercial professionals providing commercial leadership to all BDUK programmes and business support services. The team delivers all aspects of the commercial lifecycle including policy and strategy development, programme design, market engagement, procurement, contract management, risk management, assurance and supplier relationship management.

BDUK Commercial is central to BDUK programme delivery as all our programmes are delivered in collaboration with suppliers.

Laura is Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply qualified and holds a number of programme management qualifications, with over 20 years’ experience in programme and commercial roles.

The Commercial Director is responsible for BDUK’s commercial activities and provides commercial leadership to all BDUK programmes and business support services.
