Professor Keith Palmer
Biography
Professor Keith Palmer became the chair of the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council (IIAC) in 2008. Before this, he was a member of the council, and then chair of its Research Working Group between 2001 and 2008.
His is also:
- a tenured researcher in occupational epidemiology with the Medical Research Council (MRC) Epidemiology Lifecourse Unit in Southampton
- Chair in Occupational Medicine at the University of Southampton
- an honorary consultant occupational physician with the Southampton University NHS Trust
- a member of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affair’s Advisory Committee on Pesticides
- a member of the scrutiny group supporting the government review of the Work Capability Assessment
- Editor-in-Chief of the flagship faculty textbook ‘Fitness for Work’ (Oxford University Press)
