Kazi Dinsmore

Biography

Kazi Dinsmore took up his appointment as British Deputy High Commissioner to Maldives in January 2023.

Kazi joined the UK Civil Service in 2018 following 10 years in the Royal Navy and 7 years in the private sector. He has held policy, management and operational positions in the Cabinet Office and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. Most recently, he was Deputy Head of Consular Special Cases in London.

Kazi holds a Master of Arts in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Leicester. His wide-ranging interests include history, travelling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

British Deputy High Commissioner to Maldives

The Deputy High Commissioner is a senior diplomat and typically a key advisor to the High Commissioner. The Deputy is responsible for the daily management of an overseas High Commission. They will represent the UK’s interests in the absence of the High Commissioner as Chargé d’Affaires. A senior ranking Deputy may also take the title Minister.
