Katherine Kerswell
Biography
Katherine Kerswell joined the civil service in September 2012 as Director General, Civil Service Reform.
Prior to that she was a chief executive of 4 local authorities, and has worked in local government for over 25 years.
Career highlights include:
- Chief Executive of Northamptonshire County Council
- Chief Executive of Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
- Managing Director of Kent County Council
- President of SOLACE
- Chair of the Audit Committee for the Department of Children, School and Families
Katherine has represented local government on a number of government and national commissions, and has written and spoken extensively on public sector reform, leadership and change management.
