Katharine Ransome

Biography

Katy Ransome was His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Republic of Mali. Previously she was the Head of Gender and Conflict, in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Conflict, Stabilisation and Mediation Directorate. Katy was Her Majesty’s British High Commissioner to Botswana from February 2016 to March 2020.

Katy joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1995 and has since worked in multiple departments including political and security. Her previous diplomatic postings include Antananarivo, Kabul and Budapest.
