Julie joined High Speed Two (HS2) Ltd as Director of Community Engagement in December 2016. The directorate works across HS2 and its supply chain, creating opportunities for two-way conversations with communities aimed at building respectful, long-term, trusted relationships. It also actively encourages the workforce to be considerate and accountable for their actions at all times, helping HS2 earn its licence to operate.
Previously Julie has worked for the Olympic Delivery Authority, Department for Culture, Media and Sport, BAA (T5 and Heathrow Airport), Transport for London and Leonardo (formally Finmeccanica).
Julie has a Master’s Degree in Urban Regeneration and was the Winner of the Art, Media and Culture Woman of the Future Award in 2009.
Community Engagement Director
The Community Engagement Director provides strategic leadership for the design and delivery of the community engagement strategy. Through clear, timely and effective communication and engagement, the role focuses on minimising and mitigating impacts, whilst maximising the benefits within the communities which High Speed Two (HS2) operates.
