Biography

Julie is Missions and Capabilities Delivery Director for Discovery and Sustainability at the UK Space Agency.

Julie was Chief Portfolio Officer at the National Crime Agency, leading on a Transformation Programme to deliver technology, estates and the capabilities to fight against serious and organised crime. Previously, Julie was Programme Director for the Gas and Electricity Network Price Controls at Ofgem, having set up Ofgem’s portfolio office and business insights function in 2014. Julie also led the portfolio at the Bank of England and worked across agencies of the Department for Education in programme delivery roles.

Julie’s career began in automotive engineering, with 10 years’ experience delivering whole vehicle and research and development projects for Lotus Cars, and for Lotus Engineering consultancy delivering projects for clients internationally.

Missions and Capabilities Director – Discovery and Sustainability

The director oversees a portfolio of space science and exploration missions and has a responsibility for the regulation and best practice of making space activity more sustainable. This is one of three Missions and Capabilities Director roles that deliver work to achieve the National Space Strategy’s ambitions to grow the space economy.
