Julia Draycon

Biography

Julia Draycon joined the Coal Authority as Community and Emergency Response Director in November 2021.

Prior to Julia’s appointment she gained 20 years’ experience of working in emergency preparedness and response with Local Resilience Forums; starting in Hertfordshire and then in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

During that time, Julia has been involved in the response to a wide range of civil emergencies, including the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Potters Bar rail crash and the Buncefield Oil Terminal explosions.

The focus of her work has been coordinating the activities of the emergency services, local authorities, health organisations, utility companies, voluntary agencies and others partners, to plan for and respond to, major incidents.
