Jonathan Dunn

Biography

Jonathan Dunn took up his position as British Consul-General, Rio de Janeiro in August 2014.

Jonathan was born in Oxford and was educated at Abingdon School and the United World College of South East Asia (Singapore). He has a degree in Geography from the University of Sheffield.

He worked as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Brasilia from May 2013 to July 2014. His primary role was supporting the Ambassador in the promotion of British interests and the delivery of public services in Brazil. He had specific responsibility for ensuring excellent coordination across the Brazil Network of Posts (Brasilia, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife), plus the network of Honorary Consuls. Jonathan was previously the Economic Counsellor in the Embassy and retains a specific interest in economics and trade policy.

He is married to Karen Rex Dunn and they have two sons William (born 2007) and George (born 2010).
