Jon Whitfield
Biography
Jon Whitfield was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA) on 1 April 2015.
His previous roles include:
- Head of Government Internal Audit, January 2014 to present
 - Director, Cross Departmental Internal Audit Service (for BIS, DCLG, Cabinet Office, DCMS, DECC, HM Treasury and DfE)
 - Director, Internal Audit Shared Services (for BIS, DCLG, Cabinet Office, DCMS and DECC), 2011 to 2013
 - Head of Internal Audit, Department for Trade and Industry, 2004
 
Jon has Chartered Internal Auditor (CMIIA) status and has a Masters of Science in Internal Audit and Management from City University Business School. He was awarded a CBE in the 2014 New Year’s Honours List for services to government audit.
