Jocelyn Waller

Biography

Jocelyn Waller is the UK Government’s Arabic Spokesperson for the Middle East and North Africa region, based in the UK’s Arabic Media Hub in Dubai. Jocelyn’s previous roles include:

• Head of the Economic and Recovery team in the UK’s Embassy to Yemen, based in Riyadh
• Deputy Head of the UK’s Iraq Development and Humanitarian Aid programme, based in Baghdad
• Private Secretary to the Minister for the Middle East

Jocelyn studied French and German at Oxford University.

Government spokespeople act as an official voice representing departments and agencies, ensuring clear, accurate, and consistent communication with the public and media.

The UK’s Arabic Spokesperson is responsible for:

• representing UK government policies and priorities to Arabic-speaking audiences across the Middle East and North Africa
