Joanna Reid CBE, BVMS, MBA, MSc, MRCVS
Biography
Joanna was Head of DFID Pakistan from December 2015 to September 2019 and managed DFID’s largest bilateral programme there. She was formerly Head of DFID Sudan where she managed DFID’s humanitarian and development programmes in a challenging political environment. She was previously Head of DFID Somalia where the UK’s engagement scaled up significantly over the period following transition, including opening an Embassy in Mogadishu. Before that, Joanna was Head of DFID Yemen.
Joanna’s early career was in Health Service Management in the National Health Service in Scotland, and latterly she was Director of Corporate Development at a medium-sized general hospital.
