Jo Rowley

Biography

Jo became the Professional Practice Director for GIAA in May 2016, where she is responsible for the development of the profession both within the Agency and across wider central government. Her role includes oversight of internal audit policy, methodology, management systems, quality assurance and learning and development. She has extensive internal audit experience gained in practice, in commerce and in the public sector. Prior to her appointment, Jo led an audit team in the Home Office Group and held the roles of Head of Internal Audit for the Disclosure and Barring Service and the College of Policing. She is a qualified accountant ACCA and chairs the GIAA Technical Committee and played a significant part in developing the current Cross Government Internal Audit Manual.
